Ratoath Senior National School in Co. Meath
unveiled a sculpture by artist Daniel Cullen, entitled “Ratoath Salmon” on
Thursday the 1st of May 2008. This work was commissioned by the
school through the Per Cent for Art Scheme and is now permanently installed in
the schools forecourt.
The 2 meter high sculpture uses the well-known
Celtic myth of the Salmon of Knowledge to celebrate the process of education.
Daniel is fast gaining a reputation as an artist with a talent
for reawakening Celtic myths through his large ‘standing stone’ sculptures.
